Marshyhope Creek meanders through this town located in the southern-most part of Caroline County. Abundant hardwood forests and waterpower resources helped make the town a perfect spot for shipbuilding and milling. Federalsburg sawmills provided the resources to rebuild the U.S. Capital and White House after they were burned in the War of 1812.
