GREENSBORO

This quaint town is nestled in a bend of the Choptank River about six miles north of Denton. Returning soldiers from the American Revolution named the town after their commander, General Nathaniel Greene. Historically, its geographic location made it an excellent site as an inland port for transporting grain. Today visitors enjoy many of the Federal and Victorian buildings and the inescapable flavor of the nineteenth century. Greensboro has several interesting sites like the old riverside hotel and the town park where kayakers can slip into the Choptank River for a paddle. www.anywheregourmet.com/GreensboroMD/.
